A new phinisi, bought straight from the people who build it
There are two ways to buy a phinisi: through a broker on the used market, or straight from the yard as a new build. This page is the second. When you commission a new-build phinisi from Bulukumba you buy yard-to-owner — no middle listing, no previous owner’s compromises, a hull built to your specification and handed over with a builder’s certificate. It is the most direct relationship there is between an owner and a boat.

How yard-direct works
It starts with a brief and a specification, which our design desk turns into a drawing set. From there the contract is a stage-payment agreement issued by PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara: the price is fixed against the specification, and money is released as milestones are reached — keel, framing, planking, deck, engine, launch. You (or your surveyor) can inspect at each stage. At handover you receive the vessel and a builder’s certificate, the document that establishes the boat’s origin for registration.
Stage payments, protected
Buying a boat that does not exist yet is an act of trust, and the stage-payment structure is how that trust is protected on both sides. You are never far ahead of the work; the yard is never building on promises. Each stage is defined, inspected and signed off before the next payment is due. Class and Indonesian flag registration are separate processes we help coordinate but do not fold into the build price, so you can see exactly what the boat itself costs.

Yard-direct pricing is transparent by design: a fixed, specification-based figure in US dollars, staged against work. There is no listing premium and no guesswork about a previous owner’s maintenance, because there was no previous owner.
